We are going backpacking this weekend and there is a slight chance of storms. I have slept many times outside but never in a storm…..what should we do if it starts to get bad out in a tent?

look UP before setting up your camp. branches could fall and tear your tent. any tent worth carrying should do fine in a storm. keep your stuff away from the edges of the tent. water will wick through where it touches.
Run. Lol. But it depends on the storm. Tents are supposed to come with a tarp for rain. I was once in a horrible storm in a tent. Get a large tarp of plastic bag and spread it over the tent, then when the rain hits hunker down inside the tent. And don’t forget to tie down the ends of the tarp.
